Which Was Your Favorite Movie Moment?

Every film you watch teaches you something or the other. And there are these moments in cinema that completely leave you flabbergasted. The best part is, you may not like the film, but it has one particular moment in it that makes you remember it for the rest of your life. These moments are strong, standout alone and completely change your course of thinking process at that very moment (Think about The Ludovico Transformer Treatment from A Clockwork Orange)

And there have been many such moments in this year’s Hollywood movies.

Here are 15 freshly chosen gut-wrenching moments from some of the Hollywood films gave us in the past year.

1. Sausage Party – Sex party scene

This is a genius scene shot by the makers and they have surpassed the level of creative possibilities in getting innovative in representing an orgy sex part among foods. What we see is a plethora of orgasms oozing out of different types of foods mating with each other. We don’t think any soft porn movie must have offered this kind of a sensual experience that we got after watching mating between a sausage and a bun.

2. Deadpool – Opening credits scene

“Some douchebag’s film,” starring “God’s perfect idiot,” along with “a hot chick,” “a British villain,” and brought to you by the “the real heroes here” a.k.a. the writers and and directed by “an overpaid tool.” These are the opening credits of Deadpool and at the very beginning you realize nothing needs to be taken seriously here. As these whacky credits keep rolling, a camera moves through a frozen frame that has Deadpool embroiled in a car accident with thugs, one of whom is stuck right in his crotch. Say no more!

3. Green Room – First fight scene

Starring the late Anton Yelchin, this scene from the claustrophobic thriller Green Room features the members of the punk rock band The Ain’t Rights locked down in Neo Nazi skinhead bar after witnessing a murder inside the bar. While the band members manage to take away the gun from the bouncers, they decide to give it back in order to avoid any further trouble. But to their dismay, the skinheads do terrible things one of their band members which leads them to kill one of the Neo Nazis who was under their

4. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi

Ever witnessed a Call of Duty major battle scene come to life? This battle scene from action film supremo Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi is definitely an eye pleasing experience for the lovers of first person shoot video games and everyone who just loves shooting people. Lol. In this scene we see a large troop of militants engulfed in an exploding battle with the Global Response Staff officers in Benghazi. The sniper shots are strategically placed and the camera pans over the entire battleground that is lit up with bursting ammunitions.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows – First chase scene

If there’s anything the makers of Suicide Squad can learn from this film it is about to how give equal importance to all the lead members of your screenplay. In this first scene, we see all the teenage mutants i.e. Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael equally contribute in nabbing down the most dangerous criminal, Shredder. Though Shredder manages to escape with the help of his other acquaintances, this chase and fight scene is like a push button to the rest of the action that unfolds as the movie progresses.

6. Hail, Cesar! – “Would That It Were So Simple” scene

Next time anyone tries to give you a lecture of what perfection means, make them watch this jaw dropping moment from the Hail, Cesar! In this scene, a sophisticated director and a hayseed actor struggle to find perfection in one simple dialogue that goes by “Would that it were so simple.” Directed by the Coen brothers, this scene from the film has many emotions poised in one tiny moment that is infused with passive-aggressive outbursts and absolutely absurdity that makes you observe the brilliance of editing, directing and acting in less than 3 minutes.

7. Zootopia – The Mystic Oasis scene

Our personal favorite as an Oscar contender for best animated feature, Zootopia is one film that has never quite lost its charm ever since its release in March. The story of new recruit bunny officer Judy Hopps’ was one entertaining piece of work that had so many viewpoints that could be easily related to our everyday struggles. As Judy and her foxy friend Nick Wilde try to unravel the most difficult case of all time, she finds herself investigating at a naturalist club where everyone is, well natural. Yes you got it right. It’s the same moment when you are wanking off and your mom opens your door to see ‘natural’ beauties on your laptop screen. Now that you know what we are talking about, you should definitely enjoy this funny scene that will leave you rolling down with laughter.

8. 10 Cloverfield Lane – “Let me in” scene

When you are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, you generally chose to stay with the devil. And that’s exactly what Michelle decides when she realizes that she is actually safe in Howard’s bunker from where she was trying to escape and that the entire town is infected by an alien virus that is killing everyone out in the open.

9. Doctor Strange – Astral Projection scene

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the egoistic neurosurgeon Stephen Strange who travels to Katmandu, Nepal in search of cure to his completely paralyzed hands. Strange is unaware about the kind of mystic powers The Ancient One holds and calls her fake by giving some egoistic lecture about his belief in science and how everything apart from it just a myth. In this scene The Ancient One successful manages let Strange have an Astral Projection experience by separating his soul from his body. It’s the death of Strange’s ego and his first step into the world of mysticism.

10. Queen Of Katwe – Opportunity scene

The reason this scene between Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo who play Fiona’s mother and coach is crucial, because this is the time when a mother finally lets her child go out and have contact with the outside world. Fiona’s ability to play chess and represent Katwe would never have been possible if her mother would have not let her trust in her daughter and her coach. This film shows that a child can only pursue his or her career goal if their parents stand by their decision and that’s exactly what this scene is all about.

11. Don’t Breathe – Dog fight scene

Though it is true that Stephen Lang’s portrayal of The Blind Man was the reason this film worked, it is the thrill that is engulfed in watching this dog chase-fight scene that gives you goosebumps every time to see it. In this scene as Rocky, the one only surviving thief escapes from the clutches of the Blind Man, his pet a ravaging Pitbull chases Rocky right up to her car. Though Rocky manages to lock herself inside the car, the Pitbull doesn’t give up and makes sure to do everything he can to punish those who tried harming his master.

12. Captain America: Civil War – Airport battle scene

It is definitely one of the most epic battles ever seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And as directors Joe and Anthony Russo poised it, this airport battle scene completely lived up to the expectations of give us the exact splash panel moment that we would see in any comic book. The action is perfect and couldn’t have got better than this. This is the moment in cinema we all were waiting for and it all went down just like an epic superhero battle should.

13. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice: Wonder Woman joins the fight scene

Kudos to Gal Gadot’s ferocious avatar of Wonder Woman that comes to the rescue of Batman and Superman against to form a powerful rebellion against the killer Doomsday who otherwise looks inevitable. The kind of rush you get watching Wonder Woman battle against Doomsday is something that the director couldn’t offer by pitting Batman against Superman. If it wasn’t for Gadot’s cameo, we really don’t know what would have to this movie.

14. The Conjuring 2 – Valak painting scene

By now, director-producer James Wan has mastered the art of scaring the crap out of us through his cinema and this Valak painting scene from Conjuring 2 proves it all. The film did not a lot of spine chilling moments, but in this particular scene Wan makes sure to let your blood pressure shoot like a falling star in the sky. You see the main demon of the film, a nurse named Valak walking past a wall as Lorraine begins to doubt her own sanity. The demon than walks right into her painting made by Ed and storms out of it, like a horrifying painting coming to life. It was one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the film.

15. The Shallows – Final shark battle scene

There have been several shark movie spinoffs ever since Steven Spielberg’s Jaws debuted with a shark attack film. In The Shallows, Blake Lively plays a surfer looking for retreat on a quiet beach who gets trapped off shore in the vicinity that is dominated by a great white shark. Here is the final epic battle between an injured Blake and the blood-thirsty great white shark as she does everything possible to save her from becoming his full-fledged meal.
