Why Should Boys Have All The Fun?

Okay, let’s get it straight. There is a lot of misconception about the concept of feminism. Feminism is not about bashing men and wearing their glorious crown. Rather it is a movement to improve the condition of women economically, culturally, personally and socially.

Now that we know what feminism really is, let’s talk about movies that you should definitely catch up with your likeminded friends.

1. Frida

This movie beautifully narrates the life story of Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican painter who is known for her self-portraits. This movie is more like a journey where we can explore the artistic mind of Kahlo. And it wouldn’t be wrong if we say that she had the most colorful mind.

2. Thelma And Louise

A woman is not what you think she is. Watch this fun adventure movie with your girlfriends and we bet you will want to go a road trip to free yourself. Sssh! don’t tell your guy about this.

3. Kill Bill

There is nothing more powerful than a woman with a sword. Uma Thurman beats the hell out of the bad guys with vengeance on her mind. Please see, this bride is not coy.

4. Joy

Don’t get fooled by the title of this film, the movie is all about a woman’s real struggle whose name is Joy Mangano, the inventor of Miracle Mop. How she builds a business empire with nothing but herself is something unbelievable but true.

5. Mulan

If there is one Disney film that closely captures feminist sense then it has to be Mulan. A woman can be anything she wants to be even a real warrior. No matter how many times you watch it, this hilarious film on women empowerment never gets boring.

6. North Country

Sexual harassment is something majority of women deal with on a regular basis. This inspiring movie is about how one woman fights against sexual harassment at work and gets the respect women deserve by filing a lawsuit.

7. Mona Lisa Smile

Even the best of us sometimes fall prey to the traditional customs. In the vicious cycle of pride and culture, we end up sacrificing our individuality. Set in 1950s, this movie makes women question what role they play in society and what they should be doing with their life.

8. Erin Brockovich

Ah, we love this movie for two reasons. Firstly, the woman is real and the fact that she worked her ass off to get the bad guys (in this case a company) pay back, is simply rocking. Watch the movie and you’ll say ‘WOW!’

9. 9 to 5

If you have a sexist boss who is probably a man and is making life horrible for you then you might enjoy this one.

Not to forget the upcoming movie Hustle, where Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star as female scam artists, one low rent and the other a high class, who team up to take down the men who wronged them. Catch the movie in theaters on 17th May and incase you missed the trailer check it out down below.
