Netflix has decided to end one of its biggest shows, House Of Cards, after the present season amidst allegations made against Kevin Spacey, one of the shows leading actors. A sexual assault claim has been made against Spacey for an incident that occured with actor Anthony Rapp in 1986.
The channel has decided to put a plug on the show and released a joint statement with producers Media Right Capital, stating, “Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”
Spacey released a statemt online which stated how horrified he was with Rapp's claim, also adding, “If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”
The sixth and last season of the show is set to release mid-2018.
