Today, actor Sanjay Dutt was present at the trailer launch of his comeback movie, Bhoomi. Also present were Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Omung Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Shekhar Suman and Sanjay's wife Maanyata Dutt. Bhoomi is a film based on a father-daughter relationship and we would see Sanju Baba essaying the role of a father on-screen.
We all know that a biopic is being made on Sanjay Dutt and his life which will be essayed by Ranbir Kapoor. Ever since the Dutt biopic was announced, the curiosity level amongst the fans is too high. We also saw some pictures of Ranbir where he looks exactly same as Baba. Today during the media interaction, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor was asked about biopic and how skeptical he was when he heard about his own biopic being made. He said, "I was not skeptical at all because Raju, me and Abhijaat sat for many many hours and I played the cards right out in front of them. I've got nothing to hide and I have never had nothing to hide. I hope nothing has been shown about my love life. (Laughs)"
When Sanjay was asked about Ranbir, the actor said, "He's been a very special part of my life. Not because of the biopic but just because of him growing up and his family's relationship with my family."
Earlier, there were reports that Ranbir was not able to do his research for biopic properly because Sanjay didn't wanted to spend time with him. When the same was asked to Dutt, he quipped, "It will take Ranbir 50 years to do research on me! (Laughs)"
During the launch, both Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani were all praises for Sanju Baba. Chopra said, "I have never known a person like Sanjay Dutt. He is exceptional."
Further adding to this, Hirani said, "Sanju has been a very important part of my career. I have made 4 films - and out of it, 3 are with Sanju and another I am making on him (laughs). I am what I am because of him."
Rajkumar Hirani also spoke a bit about the Dutt Biopic. "It's an amazing life and what is most amazing is that Sanju is being brave enough to spell it out honestly to us. And he is not scared to portray a positive life. He has opened up all the cards and he said, 'Aapko jo bolna hai bolo, meri zindagi aisi thi.' So, I would say that he is a very brave man. Biopics can be very one sided but this is a biopic which is from all perspectives and it's a very open biopic."
Well, we are quite excited to see Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt in the biopic! Are you guys excited? Do let us know in the comments section below.
