Director, producer and creator of the Star Wars universe, George Lucas has chosen Los Angeles the home to his $1 billion Lucas Museum of Narrative art. The museum will feature some of the filmmaker’s personal collection, including memorabilia from Star Wars and other George Lucas films. Lucas selected LA over a proposal from rival San Francisco to build his museum which is all set to have a grand launch on 4th May, 2020.
"After extensive due diligence and deliberation, the Board of Directors of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is pleased to announce plans to build the museum in Exposition Park in Los Angeles," the museum's board of directors said in a statement released for the media. "We have been humbled by the overwhelmingly positive support we received from both San Francisco and Los Angeles during our selection process. Settling on a location proved to be an extremely difficult decision precisely because of the desirability of both sites and cities."
Chinese architect Ma Yanson is the man behind the futuristic design of the museum.
