The Supreme Court has given a deadline of 10 days to all cinema chains and multiplex chains to play the National Anthem before all films. The court has banned any dramatization of the anthem being played and the presence of the tricolour is compulsory.
Justice Deepak Mishra, in a statement said, “Respect must be shown as the national anthem is symbol of patriotism. People shouldn’t follow paths of individually perceived notion of freedom.” He also added, “You don’t mind restrictions when you are abroad. But when you are here, you don’t want restrictions. Directions are to be issued for love of the motherland.”
