One cannot deny the fact that Bollywood is run by a certain families, whose generations have been in the industry either as producers, directors or actors. It is really difficult for talents from the outside to come in the industry and even if they get a chance, becoming big in the showbiz for an outsider is almost impossible.

Amidst this rat race, many of our television celebrities managed to bag some credential parts in Bollywood movies proving that if you are too good with work, you will become famous anyway.

Here are some of Indian television actors-actresses who made it big in Bollywood films.

 

1.  Prachi Desai

One of the most successful actresses, Prachi’s transition from television to Bollywood was quite smooth. Known for starring in Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms opera Kasam Se, Prachi made her debut in the musical film Rock On. Ever since, she has starred in several hit films including Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Tere Meri Kahaani and sports biopic Azhar.

2.  Ayushmann Khurrana

After winning the MTV reality show Roadies, Ayushmann’s career took a steady flight as he went on to be an MTV VJ and hosted several other television shows. The best part in Ayushmann’s career arrived when he got to play the lead in the super hit comedy flick Vicky Donor.

3.  Karan Singh Grover

Bipasha Basu’s beau has been stealing the hearts of television junkies for a very long time now. In 2015, Karan signed to play alongside Bipasha in the horror flick Alone. He also starred opposite Zarine Khan along with Sharman Joshi in the thriller movie Hate Story 3.

4.  Hansika Motwani

After debuting in the fantasy television series Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Hansika went on to do a variety of roles in several shows. Her big B-town break came when she starred opposite the nasal singer Himesh Rashmiya in Aap Ka Suroor. Soon, she became a huge sensation in southern cinema and has been a part of several Tamil and Telugu films.

5.  Shah Rukh Khan

If you are too young, you will be surprised, but my dear fella this is true. Shah Rukh Khan debuted in the television serial Dil Dariya and did other shows such as Circus. Now known for a series of hits like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Karan Arjun, Josh, Chennai Express and Fan, Shah Rukh debuted with Deewana and did several villainous roles as well before hitting it in style. He is definitely the Baadshah who is living like a king in this ever flourishing entertainment industry.
