Mauke Pe Chauka

There is no dearth of talented actors in Bollywood. No, we are not just talking about lead actors who shone in a particular role, in a film. We are talking about the actors who are one of the supporting casts in a film, but have won over our hearts, nonetheless. These terrific performers truly tell us that Bollywood is overflowing with talent. Take a look at who these actors are.

1. Parineeti Chopra In Ladies vs Ricky Bahl

Even though it was her debut performance on screen, we totally loved how uninhibited Parineeti Chopra was! Her thunderous performance just gave us a glimpse of the start that she has become. It was her debut that brought her into the limelight and gave her more focus that even the lead actors of the film, Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh (both of them, by the way are superb performers in their own right).

2. Deepak Dobriyal In Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Tanu Weds Manu Returns would not have been the same without the brilliant efforts that Deepak Dobriyal put in to be Pappi ji. To be honest, we loved Pappi ji’s enthusiasm more than Manu’s quiet nature. The fact that his dialogues have become more famous than anyone else’s is a good indication that people loved him more than the lead pairs! J

3. Rishi Kapoor In Kapoor & Sons

Our very own favourite, the quirky daadu had everyone in splits with his fantastic performance.  Though the central characters of the plot impressed us too, it was Rishi ji’s performance that left everyone wanting more. Didn’t you wish your grandparents would also be cool and chic like him?

4. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub In Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s contribution to the success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns has been integral. His snazzy personality is what made the second half of the film more interesting. Had it not been for his new found love or Tanu, he wouldn’t have created a dramatic ending to the film, right?

5. Diljit Dosanjh In Udta Punjab

The superstar of Punjabi Cinema, Diljit Dosanjh made his entry into Bollywood films with the awesome character of a corrupt inspector in Punjab, who turns his life around after his brother is addicted to drugs and needs to be in rehab for a while. His strong performance definitely left a lasting impact on us and every time we see the film; we end up loving him more.

6. Shabana Azmi In Neerja

The film Neerja is based on the brave flight attendant Neerja Bhanot played by Sonam Kapoor, who saved more than 300 passengers when the plane they were travelling in was high jacked. Soman was definitely the most riveting character in the film. However, Shabana Azmi who played the mother in the film was also equally responsible for the success of the film. She portrayed the right blend of emotions that a mother would go through, when her child is in trouble. Kudos to her!

7. Supriya Pathak In Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

Those kohl lined eyes and that dangerous expression… Can you ever get over these features that Surpriya Pathak showed in this film? She was an important character in the film; however, her performance probably made her the best character in the film. Do you agree?
