Since the last few years we have seen a lot of regional films being remade and going on to become Bollywood blockbuster films. While this trend has taken over our Hindi Cinema, the most surprising aspect is that we are not focusing on remaking Hollywood blockbuster films, but instead our focus has been to recreate the magic of our regional cinema in Bollywood! Be it films from Tollywood, Kollywood, or even Gujarati Cinema, we’ve taken inspiration from almost everywhere. Don’t believe me? Take a look…

 

Telugu Cinema

Wanted is inspired from the Telugu film Pokiri.

 

 

Rowdy Rathore is inspired from the Telugu film Vikramarkudu.

 

 

Ready is inspired from the Telugu film Ready.

 

 

Son of Sardaar is inspired from the Telugu film Maryada Rammana.

 

 

Kick is inspired from the Telugu film Kick.

 

 

Main Tera Hero is inspired from the Telugu film Kandireega.

 

 

Tevar is inspired from the Telugu film Okkadu.  

 

 

Malayalam Cinema

Bodyguard is inspired from the Malayalam film Bodyguard.

 

 

Drishyam is inspired from the Malayalam film Drishyam.

 

 

Bhool Bhulaiyaa inspired from the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu.

 

 

Hera Pheri is inspired from the Malayalam film Ramoji Rao Speaking.

 

 

Housefull 2 is inspired from the Malayalam film Mattupetti Machan.

 

 

Gujarati Film Industry

Days Of Tafree is inspired from the Gujarati film Chhello Diwas.

 

 

Tamil Film Industry

Tere Naam is inspired from the Tamil film Sethu.

 

 

Saathiya is inspired from the Tamil film Alaipayuthey.

 

 

Ghajini is inspired from the Tamil film Ghajini.

 

 

Force is inspired from the Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha.

 

 

Singham is inspired from the Tamil film Singham.

 

 

Gabbar Is Back is inspired from the Tamil film Ramanaa.

 

 

An upcoming film Ok Jaanu starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor is also inspired by Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani. The film shows the live-in relationship between two lovers who have different futures planned for themselves. Check out the trailer if you still haven’t.
